Travel Expertise

Making its travel debut in 1995, the Conducive Technology team has developed a number of breakthrough online reservation solutions for the travel industry. Our software has powered online reservations for some of the largest airlines in the world, and billions of dollars in revenue have been transacted through our systems. A few examples of our work include:
AA.com Internet Booking Engine
Integrated with BroadVision, Conducive Technology developed the Internet booking engine that powered AA.com, the first personalized travel reservation site on the Internet. From 1998 to 2002 the booking engine supported AA.com as traffic increased greater than tenfold to more than one million visitors a day and transacted revenues in the hundreds of millions of dollars annually. The site received numerous awards, recognizing it as one of the most popular and successful e-commerce sites on the Web.
BookSmart
Using the experience gained from AA.com, Conducive Technology developed BookSmart, a robust, fully customizable booking engine that offers air, car and hotel reservation functionality. Recognized as Oregon's Technology Product of the Year in 1999, BookSmart powered online reservations for customers such as Air Canada, Aer Lingus and ACES (Avianca). When introduced in 1999, BookSmart represented a very early adoption of the XML technology that has become so widespread in recent years. The flexibility built into BookSmart allowed each site to easily customize the booking process to meet their specific business requirements.
The Conducive Framework
Running beneath the BookSmart booking engine, the Conducive Framework provides an underlying EAI platform that efficiently handles communications between legacy GDS/CRS systems and Web applications. Featuring a very powerful distributed scripting technology and a robust set of development objects, the framework supports the modeling and implementation of sophisticated business logic to meet the diverse needs of customers. The Conducive Framework allows for the building of a distributed technology platform from the ground up.
AAdvantage Award Booking for AA.com
In October 2001, AA.com rolled out the Conducive-developed AAdvantage Award Booking application that allowed AAdvantage members to book the most popular 25,000 PlanAAhead award. With real-time validation of mileage balances and inventory availability the application both reduced internal costs and improved AAdvantage member service. Conducive also helped architect a solution that leveraged an existing CORBA technology at AA.com (developed by Conducive) to connect AOL AAdvantage to American's AAdvantage Loyalty System. This real-time connectivity enabled authentication of loyalty members that logged into the AOL AAdvantage web site and allowed members to update their AAdvantage profile settings.
Personal AAccess
One of the first airline reservation products designed for consumers, Personal AAccess was a Windows-based client program designed, developed and tested by members of the Conducive team, for distribution to American Airlines AAdvantage members. In use from 1995 through 1999, it supported air, car and hotel availability, pricing and booking, and included an interactive seat map program.
